Art Collaboration with Singapore Tourism Board (2019)

In 2019, I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with the Singapore Tourism Board and NAFA (Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts) as part of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants event. Working alongside Michelin-starred chefs, I created a unique artwork that captured the essence of a chef’s journey through a visual autobiography. My painting, which expressed the artistry and passion behind culinary excellence, was awarded First Prize in the competition. This experience beautifully blended the worlds of art and gastronomy, celebrating creativity, culture, and craftsmanship.

INGREDIENTS

“INGREDIENTS”,

76*101cm

oil on canvas

This artwork is in celebration of the world’s 50 best Restaurants 2019 in Singapore, the Singapore Tourism Board has partnered with NAFA’s selected fine arts students. They produce a series of artworks inspired by some of the city’s 50 best restaurants.

“Ingredients” is an oil painting, which draws its inspiration from the corner house ( among Asia’s best 50 restaurants). This artwork delves into the essential ingredients of life like onions representing Jason Tan’s signature dish & the painting tools representing the artist herself. So, this optical illusion of double frame introspects the journey of art in food and painting of the chef and the artist respectively

"MY GARDEN INSTALLATION”

My garden illustrates the world of a chef at Jaan, Kirk Westaway. He has a deep-rooted passion for natural flavours and applies his knowledge & philosophy to optimally utilise fresh quality ingredients. Deepti recontextualized the chefs “english garden” into her own Utopia vision. She grew vegetables from the kitchen scrap which integrates the chefs and her own gardening memories
